Role Overview
As Sr. QA Engineer at Wabtec's Bengaluru office, you'll take ownership of quality assurance processes and drive testing excellence. You'll design comprehensive test strategies, oversee test automation frameworks, and collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-performing solutions. This is a hands-on leadership role where technical expertise and strategic thinking are equally valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop quality assurance strategies aligned with product roadmaps and business objectives
- Design, build, and maintain robust test automation frameworks using industry-standard tools
- Oversee manual and automated testing across multiple platforms and environments
- Mentor and guide QA team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to define acceptance criteria and test coverage
- Identify, document, and track defects; drive resolution through the development lifecycle
- Establish quality metrics, reporting dashboards, and KPIs to measure testing effectiveness
- Participate in agile sprint ceremonies and champion quality-first practices across teams
Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of QA engineering experience, with 2+ years in a senior or lead capacity
- Strong expertise in test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Appium, TestNG, or similar technologies
- Proficiency in manual testing methodologies, including functional, regression, and exploratory testing
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile practices
- Hands-on experience with defect tracking and test management tools like JIRA, TestRail, or equivalent platforms
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail and ownership of quality standards
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent hands-on professional experience
