About This Position

This part-time Sous Chef position offers the opportunity to develop your culinary leadership in a fast-paced, professional kitchen environment. You'll be instrumental in maintaining our food standards, mentoring junior kitchen staff, and contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of our Chiswick venue's cooking operations. Working closely with the Head Chef, you'll help deliver consistently high-quality dishes whilst managing kitchen procedures, team efficiency, and service delivery.

Your Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes to Greene King standards, ensuring quality and consistency
• Support the Head Chef with menu planning, recipe development, and kitchen strategy
• Oversee junior kitchen staff and kitchen porters, providing guidance, feedback, and training
• Monitor food safety, hygiene standards, and HACCP compliance throughout service
• Manage stock rotation, food ordering, and kitchen inventory efficiently
• Maintain kitchen equipment and report maintenance issues promptly
• Lead by example during busy service periods, maintaining composure and high standards under pressure

What You Bring

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or senior kitchen position within a busy establishment
• Strong culinary skills and comprehensive knowledge of cooking techniques
• Excellent understanding of food safety legislation and kitchen compliance requirements
• Natural leadership ability and confidence managing and developing kitchen teams
• Resilience, attention to detail, and ability to perform well under pressure
• Flexibility to work part-time shifts, including weekends and evenings as required
