Sous Chef

Join Greene King as a Sous Chef at our Acton Green venue in Greater London, where you'll lead kitchen operations and guide your culinary team. This is a full-time position for an experienced chef ready to take charge of food preparation, maintain our standards, and drive exceptional dining experiences at a busy hospitality location.

The Opportunity

We're seeking an accomplished Sous Chef to join our kitchen team at our Acton Green restaurant. You'll work alongside the Head Chef, overseeing daily operations and ensuring every plate meets our quality standards. This role offers the opportunity to develop your culinary expertise further, lead and mentor kitchen staff, and make a tangible impact on the dining experience of our guests.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate kitchen staff and food preparation across all service areas
• Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations
• Manage stock control, inventory, and food costs effectively
• Prepare and cook dishes to the highest standards, setting an example for your team
• Train and develop junior kitchen staff on cooking techniques and best practices
• Communicate with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction
• Support menu planning and contribute ideas for new dishes

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a senior kitchen role within a busy establishment
• Strong leadership and team management abilities
• Expert knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety standards
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure during busy service periods
• Relevant culinary qualifications or equivalent proven experience
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends
