Part- Time Faculty Spanish Instructor

About This Position

As a Part-Time Faculty Spanish Instructor at MC, you'll teach Spanish language courses to students across all proficiency levels, from introductory through advanced studies. You'll design and deliver dynamic lessons that build communication skills, cultural competency, and linguistic confidence. Working within MC's student-centered mission, you'll help learners achieve their academic and career goals while contributing to a vibrant Spanish language program in Montgomery County.

Your Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver Spanish language instruction through lectures, discussions, interactive activities, and multimedia resources
• Develop original course materials, learning objectives, lesson plans, and assessments that meet departmental standards
• Create and grade examinations, essays, presentations, and other assignments; provide constructive feedback to students
• Maintain accurate attendance and grade records; communicate student progress to advisors and administration
• Hold regular office hours and be available to support student questions and academic needs
• Collaborate with Spanish department faculty on curriculum development, outcomes assessment, and program initiatives
• Participate in department meetings and contribute to shared departmental goals
• Model professional conduct and foster an inclusive, respectful classroom community

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Spanish Education, Linguistics, or a closely related field
• Native or near-native fluency in Spanish (written, oral, and listening comprehension)
• Demonstrated experience teaching Spanish at the secondary or post-secondary level
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to design culturally responsive, inclusive learning environments
• Strong organizational skills and commitment to student success and learning outcomes
