Montgomery College seeks an experienced Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations and Executive Director of the Montgomery College Foundation to lead advancement initiatives across Maryland's Montgomery County. This full-time leadership position offers the opportunity to build and strengthen relationships with alumni, donors, and community partners while directing the strategic vision and operations of the Foundation.

About This Position

As the chief advancement officer for MC's Foundation, you'll oversee all fundraising strategy, alumni engagement, and philanthropic initiatives that support the College's mission. This is a senior-level role reporting directly to the President, with responsibility for managing a portfolio of institutional relationships, major gifts, and long-term development goals. You'll work at the intersection of education, philanthropy, and community leadership—positioning the Foundation as a vital resource for student support, academic programs, and institutional growth.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with College priorities and Foundation capacity
• Cultivate and steward relationships with major donors, prospects, alumni volunteers, and community stakeholders
• Lead proposal development, grant writing, and funding applications targeting individual, corporate, and foundation sources
• Manage Foundation staffing, budget, operations, and board governance to ensure fiduciary responsibility and mission alignment
• Oversee alumni engagement programs, events, communications, and volunteer recruitment
• Provide strategic counsel to College leadership on advancement priorities, emerging opportunities, and institutional positioning
• Represent MC and the Foundation at community events, professional conferences, and networking forums

What We're Looking For

• Master's degree or equivalent professional experience in development, advancement, nonprofit management, or related field
• Demonstrated success leading fundraising programs with consistent revenue growth and donor retention
• Proven ability to manage complex organizations, budgets, staff, and board relationships
• Strong financial acumen, grant writing experience, and understanding of nonprofit governance
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to inspire diverse audiences
• Strategic thinking combined with strong execution and results orientation
