Director, Infrastructure and Network Engineering (A01097)

MC seeks a Director of Infrastructure and Network Engineering to lead enterprise technology infrastructure operations in Maryland - Montgomery County. This full-time position provides strategic oversight of network architecture, systems design, and IT infrastructure while reporting to senior leadership.

What This Role Involves

As Director of Infrastructure and Network Engineering, you will own the design, implementation, and ongoing management of our enterprise infrastructure systems. This leadership role demands expertise in network architecture, systems engineering, and technical strategy—with accountability for infrastructure performance, security, reliability, and alignment to organizational objectives. You'll drive infrastructure modernization, guide vendor relationships, and establish best practices across all technology systems.

Core Duties

• Lead and mentor the infrastructure and network engineering team
• Design and deploy enterprise-grade network and system architectures
• Establish infrastructure standards, policies, and operational procedures
• Manage infrastructure budgets, resource planning, and capital expenditures
• Oversee vendor selection, negotiations, and ongoing partnerships
• Ensure security compliance, disaster recovery, and business continuity
• Direct infrastructure upgrades and technology modernization projects
• Monitor infrastructure performance metrics and implement optimization improvements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related discipline
• 8+ years of progressive experience in infrastructure, network operations, or IT systems management
• 5+ years of proven leadership managing technical teams
• Expert-level knowledge of enterprise network design and infrastructure architecture
• Demonstrated experience with data center operations, cloud platforms, and security frameworks
• Proficiency in vendor management, budgeting, and project delivery
• Strong communication and strategic planning capabilities
