Role Overview

As Assistant Manager at Greene King in Peterborough, you will support the pub management team in running a busy, customer-focused establishment. You'll be hands-on across all aspects of daily operations, from staff supervision and training to guest experience and financial performance. This role demands strong leadership, commercial awareness, and genuine passion for hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and motivate front-of-house and back-of-house staff, ensuring excellent customer service standards
• Manage rotas, training, and team development to maintain a skilled, engaged workforce
• Oversee bar operations, stock control, and inventory management to minimise wastage
• Monitor cash handling, till reconciliation, and ensure compliance with company procedures
• Maintain health, safety, and hygiene standards throughout the pub
• Drive sales through promotions, events, and menu excellence
• Support the Pub Manager in achieving financial and operational targets

Who We're Looking For

• Previous experience in hospitality management or equivalent supervisory background
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate teams
• Numeracy and commercial acumen to manage budgets and financial performance
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends
• Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences
• Full UK work eligibility and clean driving licence (desirable)
