Physical Therapist Assistant

Physical Therapist Assistant at Phoenix Home Care and Hospice in Springfield, Missouri. We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join our home care and hospice team and help patients recover and maintain their quality of life in the comfort of their homes.

Position Summary

As a Physical Therapist Assistant with Phoenix Home Care and Hospice, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to deliver therapeutic interventions to patients throughout the Springfield area. In this hands-on, part-time position, you'll be instrumental in supporting patients' rehabilitation goals, mobility, and overall well-being during their home care and hospice journey.

Your Responsibilities

• Implement therapeutic exercises and mobility activities as prescribed by the supervising Physical Therapist
• Assist patients in regaining and maintaining functional independence in daily activities
• Document patient progress, treatment sessions, and observations in medical records with accuracy and timeliness
• Report patient status, concerns, and functional changes to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Educate patients and families on prescribed home exercise programs and proper body mechanics
• Transport and set up therapeutic equipment during patient visits
• Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment in patients' homes

Who We're Looking For

• Current Physical Therapist Assistant license or certification in good standing
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in diverse home environments
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients and families
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for home visits
• Physical capability to safely assist and support patients of varying mobility levels
• Compassion and sensitivity appropriate to home care and hospice settings
• Commitment to following treatment protocols and maintaining patient confidentiality
