About the Role
This is a part-time position working with large animals in a university setting. You'll play an essential role in maintaining the health, safety, and well-being of our animal populations while supporting students, faculty, and researchers across our 12 schools.
What You'll Do
- Provide daily care for large animals, including feeding, watering, and basic grooming
- Clean and maintain animal housing, stalls, and facilities to ensure sanitary conditions
- Monitor animal health and report any signs of illness or distress to supervising staff
- Assist with animal movement and handling under direction of senior staff
- Support educational programs and research activities involving animal care
- Maintain detailed records of animal care activities as required
- Follow all safety protocols and university procedures for working with animals
What We're Looking For
- Genuine passion for animal welfare and hands-on care
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects, and work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Reliability and strong work ethic with flexibility for part-time scheduling
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely with large animals
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining clean facilities
- Previous experience with animals is valued, though we welcome candidates eager to learn
