Head of Trade Operations

Join OpenFX as Head of Trade Operations and lead the global engine powering next-generation cross-border payments from Miami, London, Dubai, or Bangalore. In this full-time senior leadership role, you will architect and scale trade and treasury operations across multiple time zones and currencies for a fintech backed by top-tier investors and growing at an exceptional pace.

Role Overview

You will establish and evolve the operational framework that enables OpenFX to process cross-border transactions flawlessly across geographies and regulatory jurisdictions. Partnering with Product, Partnerships, Finance, and Business Operations teams, you will embed operational readiness into every new product, corridor, and banking relationship. Your mandate: build a function capable of handling exponential volume growth whilst maintaining rigorous controls, sophisticated automation, and a high-performing distributed team spanning India, UK, and US time zones.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Direct oversight of the complete trade lifecycle—execution, booking, confirmation, reconciliation, and settlement—across all currencies and corridors
• Design and maintain the global operating model ensuring settlements execute accurately and on schedule across geographies
• Manage daily liquidity and cash positioning across multiple currencies, accounts, and banking partners
• Develop cash forecasting strategy and working capital optimisation across the network
• Lead the Trade and Treasury Operations team, building hiring plans, defining roles, and developing leaders capable of scaling without constant oversight
• Champion process improvements and system automation that eliminate operational breaks and settlement discrepancies
• Establish operational risk frameworks covering market and currency risk, monitoring, limits, and regulatory compliance
• Build and maintain reporting infrastructure for internal leadership, external partners, and regulatory authorities

Requirements

Essential experience and capabilities:

• 15+ years in trade operations, treasury, or closely related disciplines at major financial institutions or high-growth fintechs
• Proven success building and leading trade or treasury operations teams across multiple geographies
• Mastery of the complete trade lifecycle, cash management, foreign exchange markets, and cross-border payment infrastructure
• Demonstrated ability to design scalable operating models, controls frameworks, and automation strategies
• Executive-level communication skills and ability to influence senior product, finance, partnerships, and operations leaders
• Sound judgment regarding operational risk, controls, and compliance within regulated environments
• Fluency in asynchronous communication and distributed team management across time zones

Experience that strengthens your candidacy:

• MBA or professional treasury certification such as Certified Treasury Professional (CTP)
• Hands-on expertise with trading and treasury platforms and management systems
• Track record building trade or treasury operations functions from inception at a rapidly scaling company
• Experience navigating regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions including the US, UK, Europe, UAE, and India
