What This Role Involves

This IT Operations Engineer (gn) position at Bikeleasing centres on the day-to-day reliability of infrastructure supporting remote work throughout Deutschland. You will own the operational health of platforms, networks and services, balancing proactive care with rapid response so that technicians and colleagues experience consistent availability. The role combines hands-on systems work with clear documentation and close coordination, all carried out from a home base within Deutschland.

What You'll Do

• Continuously monitor servers, networks, applications and cloud resources to detect performance anomalies early
• Triage and resolve incidents across the technology stack, restoring service and preventing recurrence
• Maintain configuration standards, patch cycles and capacity plans for production environments
• Automate routine operational tasks with scripts and tooling to reduce manual effort
• Coordinate with engineering and security colleagues on change windows, releases and access controls
• Document runbooks, topologies and recovery procedures so knowledge remains accessible
• Support backup verification, disaster-recovery exercises and business-continuity readiness
• Recommend and implement improvements that raise system resilience for remote teams in Deutschland

Qualifications

• Solid background in IT operations, systems administration or a comparable infrastructure role
• Practical command of Linux and Windows server environments plus core networking concepts
• Experience with monitoring, logging and alerting platforms used in production settings
• Scripting ability in at least one language commonly applied to automation (for example Bash, Python or PowerShell)
• Familiarity with cloud or virtualisation technologies and basic infrastructure-as-code principles
• Proven problem-solving skills under time pressure, paired with clear written and spoken communication
• Ability to work effectively as part of a distributed team serving Remote Deutschland operations
• Relevant degree or comparable professional experience; security-awareness and process discipline are expected
