AIX Admin Sr Lead

Responsibilities

Our talent team is representing a confidential technology organization seeking a Senior AIX Administrator to lead enterprise Unix and Linux operations. In this remote role, you will:

• Administer and maintain IBM AIX, Solaris, and HP-UX operating systems across physical and virtual environments
• Manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, Ubuntu, and SUSE distributions
• Configure and support cluster environments for high availability
• Perform operating system upgrades, migrations, and patch management
• Install, configure, and maintain critical services including SFTP, FTP, MySQL, NTP, NFS, and SAMBA
• Build and monitor services on production servers
• Manage LVM configurations and YUM package management
• Coordinate with storage and network teams on infrastructure initiatives

What We're Looking For

• Strong hands-on experience with IBM AIX, Solaris, and HP-UX operating systems
• Deep knowledge of Linux distributions including RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, and SUSE
• Proficiency in BASH scripting and automation tools including Ansible and Puppet
• Experience with CIS security benchmarks and hardening
• Proven ability managing both physical and virtualized environments, particularly VMware
• RHEL 6/7 certification required with demonstrated practical experience
• Solid understanding of user management, firewalls, and patching processes
• Cluster configuration experience
• Basic knowledge of storage and network infrastructure
• Must work EST time zone hours
