Mechanical Engineer

About This Opportunity

Our client, a confidential product development organization, needs an accomplished Mechanical Engineer for a fast-paced, short-term remote engagement. We're representing them in this search and looking for someone who can deliver high-impact design work from day one. This is a hands-on role focused on plastics engineering and injection molding—ideal for a senior-level contributor who thrives under tight timelines and can move from onboarding to meaningful output within days.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical design work in Siemens NX with a focus on plastic components destined for injection molding production
• Design and refine TPU overmolded parts to meet functional and aesthetic requirements
• Manage heat insert placement and integration into plastic housings
• Apply functional dimensioning and geometric tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure manufacturability and quality
• Perform tolerance stack-up analysis to validate fit and function across assemblies
• Support IP-rated enclosure design and button/user interface component design
• Collaborate remotely with cross-functional teams to meet aggressive project deadlines

What We're Looking For

• Strong, hands-on experience with Siemens NX in a production design environment
• Proven track record designing injection-molded plastic parts from concept through manufacturing
• Direct experience with TPU overmolding processes and design considerations
• Practical knowledge of heat insert management, placement strategies, and integration techniques
• Solid grasp of functional dimensioning, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up analysis
• Experience designing IP-rated enclosures and environmental sealing strategies
• Experience with button and user interface component design
• Ability to start immediately and ramp up quickly with minimal onboarding time
• Excellent communication skills for a fully remote, distributed team environment
