Staff Software Engineer (m/f/d) for telemedicine platform

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential telemedicine organization in München seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own the architecture and evolution of their full-stack platform. In this individual contributor role, you will set technical direction while remaining deeply hands-on in the codebase.

You will:

• Own the architecture of the web application and supporting services used by healthcare professionals and end users, evolving it under real product pressure
• Define and maintain the testing strategy across unit, integration, and end-to-end coverage while keeping tests fast and practical
• Advance agentic coding practices with appropriate tooling, guardrails, and testing discipline to maintain velocity without compromising quality
• Collaborate with product teams to identify high-value solutions and surface technical tradeoffs clearly
• Build systems that meet regulatory requirements (ISO 27001, ISO 13485) while keeping engineering processes lean
• Address technical challenges across the stack, from scaling bottlenecks to integration issues

What We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate brings roughly 7+ years of professional software engineering experience on systems that reached real users. You are deeply hands-on across the full stack with particular strength in frontend development, comfortable working in backend systems, and knowledgeable about infrastructure and web technologies.

Required qualifications:

• Strong background in TypeScript with well-formed technical opinions you can defend and evolve
• Clear product focus—you care about what ships, what runs reliably in production, and what users experience
• Fluent English (C1 level)
• Proven ability to take ownership and shape processes in ambiguous environments

Nice to have:

• Experience at a startup or scale-up balancing speed with quality
• German language skills
• STEM degree or equivalent practical experience
• Exposure to regulated software, medical devices, or health data environments
