Staff Machine Learning Engineer

Our talent team is representing a confidential healthcare technology organization in their search for a Staff Machine Learning Engineer. This role goes beyond traditional ML engineering. You'll own the complete lifecycle of your models—from initial prototyping through production deployment and real-world effectiveness monitoring. Responsibilities

• Develop and tune innovative ML models and labeling systems based on deep understanding of clinical use cases and state-of-the-art methods
• Productionize the models you develop using production-grade Python, maintaining ownership from prototype to deployment
• Write, debug, and deploy production-grade Python and SQL code to implement strategies for improving ML-based systems in live clinical environments
• Build MLOps infrastructure that enables efficient model development and deployment in production systems
• Debug specific patient cases by tracing data flows through cloud services to ensure model accuracy and timeliness
• Continuously monitor and improve the real-world effectiveness of deployed models in clinical settings

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Ph.D. in a relevant field (Computer Science, Statistics, Biomedical Informatics, or related) plus 3+ years of relevant experience, OR Master's degree in a relevant field and 5+ years of experience shipping ML-based software products
• Demonstrated experience owning ML models from prototyping through production deployment
• Strong proficiency writing production-grade Python and SQL code for implementing and evaluating ML models in production systems
• Hands-on experience with MLOps tools such as SageMaker and MLFlow
• Track record of end-to-end model ownership and production system maintenance

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience building and shipping high-impact AI/ML products from zero to one
• Background in healthcare technology or working with complex, messy health data
• Experience working with enterprise customers and the agility required to meet their needs
• Comfort interpreting and leveraging state-of-the-art peer-reviewed methods in your approach
• Passion for using technology to improve healthcare outcomes

Pay
