Specialist Portfolio Manager – Healthcare

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization in their search for a Specialist Portfolio Manager - Healthcare to join their London office. Our client serves established SMEs across the UK, and this role sits within their specialized healthcare lending team, focusing on elderly care, specialist care facilities, and children's day nurseries.

This is a relationship-driven position where you'll manage a portfolio of remotely-based healthcare SME clients nationwide, serving as their primary point of contact and ensuring exceptional service delivery across lending, current accounts, and deposit products.

Responsibilities

• Develop and nurture relationships with a portfolio of healthcare SME clients, including elderly care homes, specialist care facilities, and children's day nurseries across the UK
• Serve as the relationship contact point, ensuring high-quality customer management and supporting credit submissions
• Monitor covenant compliance, review quarterly management information, and conduct annual reviews of client accounts
• Analyze audited accounts, cashflow forecasts, and business plans to understand underlying financial performance
• Manage transactions with debt levels typically ranging from £500k to £20m
• Meet with customers and advisors both in person and remotely to understand business plans and support their growth ambitions
• Collaborate across internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and best-in-class customer outcomes
• Develop and lead new lending credit submissions across healthcare products
• Liaise with collections teams when customers experience financial stress and support workout activity as needed
• Maintain compliance with all mandatory policies and operational procedures

What We're Looking For

• Strong understanding of SME banking and lending with experience across commercial asset classes
• Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to model financial accounts and management information
• Proven ability to analyze accounts and management information to assess business performance against covenants
• Experience tracking and managing key portfolio metrics with appropriate escalation capabilities
• Ability to work independently while supporting established SMEs with their banking requirements
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with business owners
• Demonstrated success working collaboratively with customers, colleagues, and advisors to deliver exceptional outcomes
• Curiosity and passion for understanding business plans and how financial services can support client aspirations
• Comfort engaging with senior stakeholders and healthcare business owners
