Senior Software Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology company that is revolutionizing customer support operations at global scale. Our client has built proprietary internal tooling that empowers support teams to deliver exceptional service across millions of interactions monthly. As they expand their operational footprint, they need an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to help scale their high-performance systems.

This is a London-based role where you'll be building the infrastructure that powers critical support tools, including a chat platform handling approximately 5 million conversations per month. You'll work on systems that directly impact how users experience world-class customer service.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain high-throughput backend services using Go
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and frontend developers to deliver features that support global operations
• Design scalable, resilient systems that can handle millions of interactions
• Lead architectural discussions and contribute to technical decision-making
• Write well-tested code and champion high code quality standards across the team
• Participate in on-call rotation to ensure system reliability
• Mentor team members and drive engineering best practices

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience building and scaling complex systems
• 2+ years of production experience in Golang, with demonstrated ability to mentor others
• Strong hands-on experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, especially Cassandra
• Solid understanding of designing and operating low-latency, high-throughput distributed systems
• Previous on-call experience with a pragmatic approach to reliability and incident management
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) is beneficial
• Background in Node.js or other backend languages is a plus
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures is advantageous
