About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential blockchain analytics organization seeking a Software Engineer to join their distributed data platform team. This is a remote position open to candidates based in Europe or the USA.
Our client is building one of the most ambitious data platforms in the crypto space, processing petabytes of blockchain data and enabling performant SQL queries across massive datasets. This role is ideal for engineers passionate about distributed systems, large-scale databases, and high-performance computing.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop distributed systems with a focus on scalability and performance
- Take ownership of critical components within the blockchain data platform, including data ingestion and decoding pipelines
- Write production code primarily in Kotlin and Go, with some Java and Rust
- Engage with technical challenges involving distributed systems, very large databases, SQL processing, and data modeling
- Contribute to internal developer experience through improved testing, integration, and deployment processes
- Continuously improve platform operations, including exploring AI-driven automation for incident diagnosis and resolution
- Participate in high-impact architectural decisions alongside a fast-moving engineering team
What We're Looking For
- Strong generalist software engineer with solid computer science fundamentals
- Understanding of distributed system design, or eagerness to learn if you're earlier in your career
- Knowledge of blockchain technology and RPC interactions
- Experience with data lakes and formats such as Parquet, Delta, or Iceberg
- Coding proficiency in JVM languages with a commitment to well-designed, testable software
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills for effective teamwork
- Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and find optimal solutions for complex problems
