Software Consultant (m/w/d) – Sicherheitstechnik

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential security technology organization seeking a Software Consultant (m/w/d) for their operations in southern Germany. This is not a standard installation role—you'll be bringing complex, integrated security solutions to life with genuine system intelligence. Our client specializes in converged security platforms that unify video surveillance, intrusion detection, fire alarm systems, access control, and emergency exit management into a single command-and-control environment.

This position is based in Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Baden-Württemberg, with possible placement at alternate locations in Stuttgart, Karlsruhe, or Stetten am kalten Markt. You'll work with cutting-edge security management platforms and ensure that when critical moments arise, every second counts.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure modular security management platforms that integrate multiple subsystems including video surveillance (Milestone, AXIS, i-Pro), intrusion and fire alarm systems (Telenot, Honeywell), emergency exit technology (Assa Abloy), and proprietary access control solutions
• Create interfaces for data import/export and ensure smooth go-live implementations at client sites
• Conduct training sessions to enable customers to effectively use relevant system functions
• Perform regular software maintenance including required testing and updates
• Analyze and resolve system disruptions and technical issues
• Prepare requirement specifications and obligation documents (Lasten- und Pflichtenhefte)
• Provide on-site support throughout southern Germany when remote maintenance or video calls are insufficient

What We're Looking For

• Successfully completed technical degree (e.g., Computer Science) or vocational training as IT Specialist (m/w/d) for System Integration or Application Development, Electronics Technician (m/w/d) specializing in Information and Telecommunications Technology; further qualification as state-certified technician (m/w/d) or equivalent is advantageous
• Relevant professional experience installing security technology (CCTV, intrusion detection, or fire alarm systems)
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Windows Client operating systems
• Understanding of network architecture, capacity planning, and potential network errors
• Experience with scripting and databases (MS SQL)
• Independent, self-directed work style with strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Valid Class B/3 driver's license and willingness to travel within southern Germany
• German language proficiency required for client interaction and documentation
