Country Director Germany (Fixed Term Employment 1 year)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential client in the electric vehicle charging infrastructure sector. They are seeking an experienced Country Director for their German operations on a fixed-term basis through December 2027. This is a high-impact leadership role based in Cologne, where you will drive market growth, operational excellence, and commercial performance in one of Europe's most important EV markets.

You will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and be expected on-site at least three days per week. This interim position offers the opportunity to shape strategic direction, lead a dedicated local team, and accelerate the expansion of a premium charging network across Germany.

Responsibilities

• Accelerate network deployment by proactively removing bottlenecks and ensuring rapid, strategic scaling across the German market
• Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure the project pipeline consistently delivers high-potential locations on schedule
• Oversee day-to-day operations with focus on agility, continuously refining workflows to maintain operational excellence
• Collaborate with commercial teams to drive revenue growth, customer acquisition, brand visibility, and local marketing initiatives
• Identify strategic partnerships and business opportunities to maximize market share and profitability
• Scale both B2B and B2C offerings while optimizing pricing strategies and business models
• Monitor costs and revenue to ensure the financial health of the German market
• Represent the organization in the German EV ecosystem, engaging with government bodies, stakeholders, and media as needed
• Implement the German strategic plan, aligning with company vision while adapting to local market dynamics
• Partner with HR to recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing, mission-driven team
• Lead workforce planning, onboarding, and leadership coaching for key roles
• Cultivate a culture of collaboration, innovation, and ownership across local teams

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in senior management roles within fast-paced, dynamic environments
• Strong commercial background with expertise across both B2B and B2C markets
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to influence and inspire teams
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills in both English and German (required)
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and matrix organizations
• Experience in strategic planning, operational execution, and financial management
• Track record of successfully scaling operations and driving commercial growth
• Passion for sustainability and the electric mobility transition
• Comfort with interim/fixed-term assignments and ability to make immediate impact
