About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential client in the electric vehicle infrastructure space. They are seeking a Senior Director of Fleet Charging to lead strategic account management and segment strategy development for commercial fleet electrification. This is a unique opportunity to shape how enterprise fleets transition to electric across multiple sectors including delivery, transit, and government operations.
This role combines two critical functions: managing relationships with top-tier fleet accounts while building comprehensive segment playbooks that directly influence product development, policy positioning, and go-to-market strategy across the organization.
Responsibilities
Segment Strategy & Blueprint Development:
- Build and maintain segment-specific playbooks for enterprise/commercial fleet, last-mile delivery, transit fleet, and government/municipal fleet categories
- Document customer economics, procurement patterns, technical requirements (depot charging, duty cycles, vehicle mix), and competitive positioning for each segment
- Translate field intelligence into structured inputs for Product, Policy, R&D, and Marketing teams with defined cadence and measurable impact
- Refresh blueprints continuously against market shifts and track KPIs that indicate segment traction and strategy accuracy
Strategic Account Management:
- Own and grow a portfolio of enterprise-scale fleet accounts, serving as primary point of accountability for account health, retention, and expansion
- Lead negotiation and structuring of complex, multi-year agreements with major fleet operators
- Drive footprint expansion as customers electrify additional depots and routes
- Coordinate cross-functional pursuit teams on major RFPs and bids, leveraging segment intelligence to strengthen proposals
Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Serve as the primary conduit between field reality and internal functions, ensuring account insights directly shape what gets built, priced, and positioned
- Provide business case analysis, financial modeling, and ROI assessments for major pursuits and investment decisions
- Track segment strategy performance against plan and adjust approach as market dynamics evolve
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred
- 10–15 years of progressive experience in business development, strategic account management, or strategic planning within EV, energy, or technology sectors
- Direct commercial fleet electrification experience strongly preferred
- Proven track record owning and growing enterprise-scale account portfolios, consistently meeting or exceeding revenue and expansion targets
- Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities; ability to synthesize complex data into clear executive-level presentations
- Demonstrated ability to build cross-functional influence with Product, Policy, R&D, and Marketing teams
- Deep understanding of fleet electrification economics, depot charging infrastructure, duty-cycle planning, and e-mobility market dynamics
- Fluency with modern productivity and AI tools for research, analysis, and content development
- Strategic thinker who can convert high-level goals into actionable segment blueprints and account plans
- Willingness to travel 25–30% for customer visits, industry events, and cross-functional collaboration
Location: USA (Atlanta, Los Angeles, Campbell, or Phoenix preferred)
