Senior Android Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential privacy technology company seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join their remote-first engineering team. This organization builds secure, privacy-focused applications used by millions worldwide and has maintained consistent profitability and growth.

As part of the Android functional team, you'll take end-to-end ownership of features and projects—from initial scoping through execution to postmortem analysis. Recent work has included privacy subscription features, autofill improvements, and security protection systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain secure, privacy-focused Android applications using Kotlin
• Design and implement complex features with attention to security and user privacy
• Work with Maestro and Graphite in your development workflow
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop effective UX solutions using both quantitative and qualitative data
• Take full ownership of projects from conception through deployment and analysis
• Contribute to architecture decisions around mobile threading, memory management, and MV patterns

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of Android engineering experience with at least two large native Android applications in your portfolio
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin programming
• Deep understanding of MV architectural concepts, mobile threading, and memory management as applied to mobile applications
• Fundamental understanding of complex data structures and algorithms
• Demonstrated ability to leverage data and collaborate cross-functionally to solve UX challenges
• Creative problem-solving skills with the confidence to take initiative while knowing when to involve others
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to validate and clearly articulate technical decisions
• Ability to attend video meetings on camera
• Availability to travel approximately twice per year (4-5 days each) for company gatherings
• Full-time availability averaging 40 hours per week with flexible scheduling
