Senior Consultant (w/m/d) Policy Monitoring & Reporting im Bereich Forschung und Innovation

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential public-sector research and consulting organization seeking a Senior Consultant to lead policy monitoring and reporting initiatives in research and innovation. You will coordinate, editorially steer, and contribute to the conceptual development of ongoing monitoring and advisory formats for public-sector clients.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Continuously monitoring and analyzing research and innovation policy developments, preparing findings for recurring reporting, monitoring, and advisory formats
• Processing, communicating, and visually presenting statistical data and indicators related to research and innovation systems
• Creating, coordinating, and quality-assuring audience-appropriate reports, studies, and presentations for specialist audiences and the general public—from concept through independent empirical work to final stakeholder alignment
• Managing projects including time and resource planning, coordinating approval processes and interfaces with clients and cooperation partners

What We're Looking For

• At least four years of relevant professional experience in policy consulting and/or evaluation; experience leading project teams and managing secretariat functions is desirable
• Experience acquiring consulting and contract research projects for organizations in the public sector
• Proven ability to manage complex alignment processes with multiple stakeholders from the research context, such as federal and state ministries or research organizations
• Deep knowledge of the German research and innovation landscape and current research and innovation policy debates
• Experience creating evidence-based reports and processing and communicating statistical data in research and innovation; familiarity with innovation indicators and science statistics is advantageous
• Strong editorial and communication skills with the ability to present complex issues clearly, objectively, and appropriately for target audiences
• Completed degree in a relevant field with solid empirical methodology skills; independence, analytical thinking, reliability, and team-oriented work style
• Willingness to undertake occasional business travel (including international); excellent German and English language skills, additional languages are a plus
