Director, Product Management – Medical Claims Platform

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential healthcare technology organization in their search for a Director of Product Management to lead strategy and execution for a core medical claims platform. This is a strategic leadership role that combines deep healthcare payer expertise with enterprise product management to drive modernization of mission-critical systems supporting health plan operations.

Our client serves healthcare organizations nationwide with technology that powers claims administration, and they need a leader who can translate market dynamics, regulatory requirements, and client needs into executable product strategy.

Responsibilities

As Director of Product Management, you will:

• Own the vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for a core medical claims processing platform serving health plans
• Define platform modernization priorities based on market trends, regulatory changes, competitive positioning, and client requirements
• Drive roadmap execution from strategy through requirements, development, release, adoption, and measurement
• Partner with Engineering leadership to translate product strategy into executable development plans
• Maintain strong discipline around backlog prioritization, release planning, and trade-off decisions
• Serve as domain leader for medical claims adjudication, benefits configuration, pricing, provider reimbursement, and related payer workflows
• Engage directly with clients to understand strategic priorities and distinguish individual requests from scalable product opportunities
• Establish KPIs to measure product performance, adoption, operational efficiency, and business impact
• Lead cross-functional alignment across Product, Technology, Operations, Implementation, Sales, and Compliance teams
• Represent the platform in executive client discussions, demonstrations, and strategic planning sessions
• Balance platform modernization with near-term client commitments and revenue opportunities

What We're Looking For

Required Experience:

• 10+ years in healthcare technology, health plan operations, or product management with significant medical claims and payer platform experience
• 5+ years of product leadership experience, preferably with enterprise healthcare platforms or complex transaction-processing solutions
• Deep understanding of health plan claims administration and the broader payer ecosystem
• Demonstrated experience developing product strategy and translating it into executable roadmaps with measurable outcomes
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements, interoperability, automation, APIs, and cloud technologies
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred

Key Capabilities:

• Expert knowledge of claims adjudication, eligibility, payment integrity, accumulators, and reimbursement workflows
• Experience leading modernization of complex, mature technology platforms
• Ability to lead initiatives across Product and Engineering organizations in a matrixed environment
• Strong executive communication and client engagement skills
• Analytical decision-making balanced with strategic thinking and hands-on execution
• Proven ability to influence decisions and drive alignment across competing priorities
