Responsibilities
Our client, a confidential technology organization, is seeking an experienced API Developer to join their distributed engineering team. In this role, you will:
- Design and architect distributed systems that are scalable, reliable, and resilient
- Build and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs using Node.js
- Establish coding best practices and conduct constructive peer code reviews across the team
- Enable and optimize CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and release processes
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to build and deploy software solutions on AWS infrastructure
- Triage and resolve production and integration issues reported by API consumers
- Learn and contribute to features using modern technologies and frameworks
- Leverage generative AI tools for code generation, testing, and automation of engineering workflows
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring 10 or more years of backend development experience and demonstrate:
- Expert-level proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and common design patterns
- Proven experience building RESTful and GraphQL APIs with Node.js
- Hands-on experience building applications, CI/CD pipelines, and databases on AWS
- Practical experience with generative AI for code generation, testing, and day-to-day automation
- Knowledge of React or React Native (preferred but not required)
- Strong collaboration skills and commitment to shared ownership
- Results-oriented mindset with focus on delivery and impact
- Experience with additional programming languages or technologies is valued
