The Opportunity
As a pediatric home health nurse with Phoenix Home Care and Hospice, you'll play a vital role in supporting children and their families through complex medical needs. This is a hands-on nursing position where you'll build meaningful relationships with young patients while providing clinical expertise that makes a real difference. You'll work independently and collaboratively within our care team to ensure every child receives individualized, compassionate attention in the comfort of their home.
Core Duties
- Assess pediatric patients' health status and vital signs
- Administer medications and manage medication schedules
- Perform wound care, dressing changes, and other skilled nursing interventions
- Monitor and document patient progress and clinical outcomes
- Educate families on patient care, treatment plans, and safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with physicians, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Maintain comprehensive, timely clinical documentation
- Respond to patient and family needs with professionalism and empathy
Skills & Qualifications
- Current, valid RN or LPN license in Kansas
- Experience in pediatric nursing or home health care
- Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
- Current CPR certification
- Excellent communication and teaching abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Compassionate approach to pediatric and family-centered care
