Role Overview
As Lead Lawyer for Delivery Hero, you'll drive legal strategy and governance for one of Europe's most innovative food delivery and logistics platforms. Operating from Bucharest, you'll take ownership of high-impact matters spanning regulatory compliance, commercial contracts, employment law, and technology-related legal issues. This full-time role combines hands-on legal work with team leadership, requiring both deep expertise and the ability to guide and develop your legal team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the legal team, fostering a high-performing culture and providing guidance on complex legal matters
- Manage regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring Delivery Hero meets evolving food delivery, logistics, and data protection requirements
- Oversee commercial contract negotiations and legal review for partnerships, vendor agreements, and technology integrations
- Advise senior management on legal risks, strategic opportunities, and governance matters affecting the business
- Handle employment law matters, dispute resolution, and litigation management as needed
- Stay abreast of legal developments in the gig economy, e-commerce, and technology sectors affecting Delivery Hero's operations
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with 10+ years of legal experience, ideally including in-house counsel or senior law firm roles
- Deep knowledge of Romanian law and EU regulatory frameworks
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing legal teams or complex multi-disciplinary projects
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate legal advice into business impact
- Proficiency in English; Romanian language fluency required
- Excellent communication skills and ability to distil complex legal concepts for non-legal stakeholders
