North Country Supervisory Union is hiring a Part-Time Farm to School Coordinator at Charleston Elementary School, a PK-8 learning community in the US. This position, up to 5 hours per week, is your opportunity to help a vibrant 130-student school develop meaningful connections between young learners and local agriculture.
About the Role
You'll lead the design and delivery of farm-to-school educational initiatives that deepen students' understanding of local food systems and agricultural practices. This role bridges the classroom with real-world farming experiences, enriching how students learn about where their food comes from and fostering appreciation for sustainable, regional agriculture.
What You'll Do
- Develop farm-to-school programming that connects students with local farmers and food producers
- Cultivate partnerships with regional agricultural organizations and farms to create hands-on learning opportunities
- Coordinate field experiences, farm visits, and on-campus garden or agricultural activities
- Weave farm-to-school themes and local food systems education into classroom instruction
- Plan and host events and workshops that engage students, families, and staff around local agriculture
