Global Supply Planning Director – ADx

The Global Supply Planning Director at Waters Corporation directs supply planning for the ADx portfolio of consumables and instruments from our Sparks, Baltimore County site. In this full‑time leadership role, you will craft the supply‑chain strategy, define the operating framework, and own performance outcomes that drive reliable inventory, strong customer service, and a resilient supply network.

About the Role

As the senior leader for ADx supply chain, you partner with demand planning, procurement, manufacturing, and logistics to create integrated plans that align supply with market demand. You develop long‑term capacity plans, set inventory targets, and continuously improve planning processes to support business growth and responsiveness.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain the global supply plan for consumable products and analytical instruments, balancing demand forecasts with production capacity.
• Own the supply‑chain strategy for the ADx value chain, establishing the operating framework and defining key performance indicators.
• Work closely with cross‑functional teams to translate business forecasts into detailed manufacturing and procurement schedules.
• Monitor supply‑chain metrics such as fill‑rate, inventory turns, and risk exposure, initiating corrective actions when thresholds are breached.
• Lead continuous‑improvement projects that leverage advanced analytics and planning technology to enhance forecast accuracy and reduce lead times.
• Mentor and develop a team of supply planners, fostering a culture of accountability, data‑driven decision making, and collaboration.
• Participate in S&OP executive reviews, providing insights that influence corporate financial planning and capacity investment decisions.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, business, or a related field; advanced degree or certification (e.g., APICS, CPIM, Six Sigma) preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in global supply planning, demand‑supply integration, or manufacturing operations within a complex, multi‑site environment.
• Proven ability to design and execute supply‑chain strategies that improve service levels while optimizing inventory and cost.
• Strong analytical skills with hands‑on experience in planning tools such as SAP IBP, Oracle Demantra, Kinaxis, or similar platforms, plus proficiency in data visualization tools.
• Excellent communication and influencing abilities, capable of engaging senior leaders across functions and geographies.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing high‑performing teams and driving change initiatives.
• Familiarity with the life‑science or diagnostics industry is a plus but not required.
