Director of AI Platform (all genders)

Delivery Hero is seeking a Director of AI Platform to lead strategic artificial intelligence initiatives from our Barcelona, CT, ES office. In this full-time leadership position, you will drive the vision, architecture, and deployment of AI systems that power our global delivery platform and customer experiences.

About This Position

As Director of AI Platform at Delivery Hero, you'll oversee the design and execution of enterprise-scale machine learning infrastructure and AI product capabilities. This role bridges technical innovation with business strategy, requiring you to set priorities, manage cross-functional teams, and ensure AI investments deliver measurable impact across our operations. You'll work at the intersection of product, engineering, and data science, shaping how Delivery Hero leverages AI to enhance delivery networks, improve customer engagement, and optimize platform performance.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the AI platform strategy, roadmap, and technical direction aligned with business objectives
• Lead, mentor, and expand the AI and machine learning engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence
• Oversee the development, deployment, and optimization of machine learning models serving production systems
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and data teams to identify high-impact AI use cases and prioritize initiatives
• Establish governance, best practices, and infrastructure standards for AI systems across Delivery Hero
• Monitor AI model performance, data quality, and system reliability in production environments
• Communicate AI platform capabilities, limitations, and roadmap progress to senior stakeholders

What You Bring

• Proven leadership experience managing technical teams and overseeing AI or machine learning platforms
• Deep expertise in machine learning engineering, model development, and production ML systems
• Strong understanding of data infrastructure, data pipelines, and MLOps practices
• Experience translating business requirements into technical AI strategy and implementation plans
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and business stakeholders
• Technical background in computer science, mathematics, or related field, with advanced degree preferred
