About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential public safety technology organization in their search for a Senior Software Engineer to join their London team. Our client is building mission-critical cloud services that require exceptional reliability and performance. This role offers the opportunity to shape product architecture while working in an AI-first engineering environment.
This is a hybrid position based in London, with onsite collaboration Tuesday through Friday and remote flexibility on Mondays.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering architecture design reviews, incorporating AI-driven insights and system modeling
- Set technical standards through code and architecture reviews, including evaluation of AI-generated code and patterns
- Mentor engineers on scalable system design and AI-first development practices
- Drive adoption of AI-assisted development tools and workflows across the engineering organization
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to create integrated solutions
- Improve engineering processes by embedding automation, AI tooling, and intelligent workflows
- Build highly-available services that meet strict availability and latency requirements
- Leverage AI systems to optimize performance, observability, and operational efficiency
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 6+ years of professional software development experience
- Proven experience designing and delivering highly-available, scalable cloud-based systems
- Backend service experience in multiple managed languages such as Java, Scala, Go, C#, or similar
- Experience with SQL or NoSQL data stores
- Experience evaluating and integrating AI-assisted development tools into engineering workflows
- Strong understanding of how AI can improve developer productivity, system design, and operational efficiency
