Senior Staff Full Stack Engineer – Origination & New Products

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential energy technology client in their search for a Senior Staff Full Stack Engineer to lead their Origination & New Products squad. This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who thrives in ambiguous, high-stakes environments where you're building products that don't yet exist.

Our client is transforming how electricity is bought, sold, and priced through AI-native transaction infrastructure. They've recently closed significant Series B funding and are scaling internationally, rebuilding energy markets with modern software and transparent pricing.

This role is based in the United Kingdom with remote and flexible working arrangements.

Responsibilities

As Senior Staff Engineer, you will:

• Drive technical direction for the Origination & New Products squad through hands-on execution—design, build, and ship the hardest parts yourself
• Translate ambiguous, commercially-driven problems into deliverable engineering plans without needing prescriptive specifications
• Lead deep integrations with internal services, pricing capabilities, and deal-gating risk tooling
• Design systems for product categories that don't exist yet, making sound judgement calls on commercial risk
• Partner directly with engineering management and commercial stakeholders to tie product delivery to pipeline outcomes
• Set technical standards and patterns that other squads adopt, raising the engineering bar across the organization
• Mentor squad engineers and elevate technical practices while remaining on the individual contributor track
• Represent the technical perspective in conversations with new-market stakeholders as the company expands internationally

What We're Looking For

Must-have qualifications:

• Proven technical leadership at Staff or Senior Staff level with evidence of leading complex, ambiguous initiatives to measurable business impact
• Comfort operating without complete specifications—ability to shape broad opportunities into buildable solutions
• Sound commercial judgement and ability to reason about deal risk and revenue impact, not just technical delivery
• Deep platform fluency to integrate against complex, business-critical systems
• Track record of technical squad leadership through direction and mentorship
• Evidence of influence beyond your immediate team—raising standards, unblocking teams, shaping practices others adopted
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable representing technical perspectives to commercial stakeholders
• Experience with Python, AWS serverless (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, EventBridge), and event-driven architectures

Bonus qualifications:

• Experience in energy, fintech, or other regulated, high-stakes commercial domains
• Background taking products or companies into new international markets
• Exposure to workflow orchestration, event-driven systems, or real-time pricing engines
• Experience originating new product lines from scratch rather than only scaling existing ones

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: £117,850 base salary, plus equity options.

Additional benefits include 25 days holiday plus public holidays (with flexibility to swap), remote and flexible working with no internal meetings on Friday afternoons, home working budget up to £1,200 annually, and wellbeing budget up to £150 monthly.
