Head of Data

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential fintech organization operating in the cross-border payments space. They've built a sophisticated multi-currency infrastructure that processes high volumes of transactional data across B2B payments, treasury operations, and foreign exchange. We're now searching for a Head of Data to establish and lead their data function from the ground up.

This is a rare opportunity to shape how an entire organization leverages data. You'll report directly to executive leadership and work across finance, operations, product, sales, trading, and treasury teams to build the analytics foundation they depend on daily.

Responsibilities

• Build and own the complete analytics layer: dashboards and steering tools for finance, operations, sales, trading, and treasury functions
• Partner with the engineering team to evolve database architecture and define data models that support current and future business needs
• Select, integrate, and implement data infrastructure tools including data lakes, transformation pipelines, and reporting systems
• Collaborate with product squads to ensure new features maintain data integrity and don't compromise existing reporting systems
• Review all schema changes before deployment and arbitrate data-related product decisions to prevent pipeline breakage
• Empower business teams through documentation and training, enabling managers to query and analyze data independently within their domains
• Translate complex business requirements into robust data solutions across multiple departments

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of experience in data roles with progressive responsibility
• Strong SQL expertise with in-depth Postgres experience highly valued
• Proven track record with modern data tooling and infrastructure
• Experience with dbt, BigQuery, and Google Cloud Platform data ecosystem preferred
• Background working with fintech data strongly appreciated: multi-currency systems, foreign exchange operations, ledger systems, balance logic, and financial reconciliations
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to create clarity around complex data challenges for non-technical stakeholders
• Fluency in French and professional-level English required
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority
