AI Engineer (GenAI Platform) – Mid Level

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential data technology organization seeking an AI Engineer (GenAI Platform) - Mid Level to join their global artificial intelligence platform team in Brazil.

In this role, you will play a fundamental part in designing, developing, and operating AI services that support engineering and product teams across multiple countries. Your work will enable scalable, secure, observable, and cost-efficient GenAI solutions at the platform level.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Designing and developing Generative AI services and multi-agent systems
• Implementing RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), tool-calling, and agent orchestration solutions
• Integrating and operating models through LLM gateways
• Developing LLMOps practices for monitoring, observability, and governance
• Implementing consumption measurement, chargeback mechanisms, and inference cost optimization
• Building and maintaining data pipelines supporting billing and metering processes
• Applying MLOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and model lifecycle management practices
• Handling incidents, monitoring, reliability, and continuous service improvement
• Collaborating with global Product, Engineering, Platform, Security, and Data teams

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Experience in Software Engineering and Applied AI
• Hands-on experience with GenAI projects in production environments
• Advanced English proficiency
• Technical expertise in GenAI and Agentic AI: multi-agent orchestration, tool calling, multi-step reasoning, RAG, prompt engineering
• Proficiency with LangChain, LangGraph, or equivalent frameworks
• Experience with LLMOps and platforms: LLM gateways (LiteLLM or similar), model integration via APIs, observability, LLM application evaluation, latency and performance optimization
• Knowledge of vector databases and retrieval mechanisms
• Advanced Python programming skills
• AWS experience (preferred)
• Strong understanding of architecture best practices, observability, and reproducibility
• MLOps experience: experiment versioning and tracking, CI/CD, automated testing, AI service deployment and rollback
• Data Engineering knowledge: data pipelines, batch and streaming, Spark and Lakehouse architectures, data orchestration

Nice to have:

• Kafka and event streaming experience
• Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
• Databricks (Delta Lake and DLT)
• Experience with internal developer platforms
• Work experience in global, distributed environments
