Senior Accountant / Bilanzbuchhalter:in (m/w/d) – HGB & IFRS

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential software organization seeking a Senior Accountant to take ownership of financial processes and drive continuous improvement in an international environment.

In this role, you will:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under HGB and IFRS standards, ensuring data quality and completeness
• Manage provisions and inventory valuations, ensuring proper period-end accruals and deferrals
• Support tax compliance activities including VAT pre-registrations, tax return preparation, and external audit coordination
• Reconcile general and subsidiary ledgers and collaborate closely with internal and external auditors
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger entries
• Identify and implement process improvements leveraging AI and automation tools to reduce manual workload
• Work directly with senior finance leadership to continuously develop and refine accounting procedures

What We're Looking For

• Minimum five years of accounting experience with direct responsibility for financial statement preparation
• Bilanzbuchhalter:in (IHK) qualification, commercial training with focus on finance and accounting, or equivalent credential
• Strong working knowledge of HGB and IFRS accounting standards with proven practical application
• Proficiency in Excel; experience with Sage 100 and Candis is advantageous
• Interest in or existing experience with AI tools to enhance productivity
• Fluent German for communication with tax advisors, authorities, and auditors; strong English for international collaboration
• Self-directed work style with excellent prioritization skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent responsibilities
• Proactive mindset focused on shaping processes rather than simply maintaining them
• Tax advisory background is a plus but not required

Location: Leipzig, hybrid (2–3 days per week in office). Full-time permanent position.
