Responsibilities
Our talent team is representing a confidential technology organization seeking a Senior AIX Administrator to lead enterprise Unix and Linux operations. In this remote role, you will:
- Administer and maintain IBM AIX, Solaris, and HP-UX operating systems across physical and virtual environments
- Manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, Ubuntu, and SUSE distributions
- Configure and support cluster environments for high availability
- Perform operating system upgrades, migrations, and patch management
- Install, configure, and maintain critical services including SFTP, FTP, MySQL, NTP, NFS, and SAMBA
- Build and monitor services on production servers
- Manage LVM configurations and YUM package management
- Coordinate with storage and network teams on infrastructure initiatives
What We're Looking For
- Strong hands-on experience with IBM AIX, Solaris, and HP-UX operating systems
- Deep knowledge of Linux distributions including RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, and SUSE
- Proficiency in BASH scripting and automation tools including Ansible and Puppet
- Experience with CIS security benchmarks and hardening
- Proven ability managing both physical and virtualized environments, particularly VMware
- RHEL 6/7 certification required with demonstrated practical experience
- Solid understanding of user management, firewalls, and patching processes
- Cluster configuration experience
- Basic knowledge of storage and network infrastructure
- Must work EST time zone hours
