About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential energy technology client in their search for a Staff Data Analyst to embed within their commercial operations. This is a high-impact role where your analysis directly influences revenue decisions, pipeline accuracy, and commercial strategy.
Our client is scaling rapidly across the UK and EU, building AI-driven infrastructure to transform how electricity markets operate. You'll join at a pivotal growth stage, working closely with commercial leadership to ensure the metrics that drive the business are accurate, trusted, and actionable.
This is not a dashboard factory role. You'll take ambiguous questions from senior stakeholders, define the right analytical approach, and deliver recommendations that change decisions—not just reports that sit in inboxes.
Responsibilities
- Own pipeline and revenue forecasting accuracy, monitoring sales data to catch overlaps, double-counting, and CRM data quality issues before they impact forecast reliability
- Define and report forecast accuracy against annual targets, setting the standard for how commercial metrics are tracked across the organisation
- Conduct commercial opportunity sizing and partner performance analysis to support sales and leadership decisions
- Identify underperformance, emerging trends, and risks in the pipeline before they surface in headline numbers
- Serve as the voice of data for the commercial team, translating complex retention, renewal, and margin analysis into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders
- Work directly with commercial and sales teams to define what "good" looks like for key metrics, establishing clear, agreed definitions
- Build compelling data stories that inspire action among non-technical audiences
- Increase data adoption across the commercial team, enabling colleagues to self-serve routine reporting needs
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Strong SQL skills with experience investigating complex datasets across modern analytics stacks (dbt, BI tools such as Omni or similar)
- Commercial acumen—you understand how analytical findings connect to revenue and margin outcomes
- Experience developing forecasts or scenario models and explaining variance from actuals to senior stakeholders
- Ability to turn ambiguous stakeholder questions into well-defined analytical problems and present clear recommendations
- Proven track record building trusted metrics or reporting from messy or inconsistent source data (CRM systems, transactional databases)
Valued but not required:
- Background in energy, fintech, or another commercially complex, data-intensive sector
- Python for statistical analysis or advanced data quality work
- Experience building metric frameworks that connect operational activity to commercial outcomes
- Familiarity with CRM systems and parent-child or account hierarchy data structures

Pay
Pay via Get A Job.ai will be discussed during the screening process and is based on experience and qualifications.
This is a remote-first role within the UK and EU. The client offers equity participation, 25 days holiday plus public holidays (with flexibility to swap), and your birthday off.
Equal Opportunity: Get A Job.ai is committed to inclusive hiring practices. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds, experiences, and identities.
