Specialist Category Management – Fresh Food

Delivery Hero is seeking a Specialist in Category Management for Fresh Food to join our growing team in Manama, Bahrain. In this full-time role, you will drive performance and growth across our fresh food category, partnering with merchants and supply chain teams to deliver the quality and variety our customers depend on from a leading food delivery platform.

The Opportunity

As our Fresh Food Category Specialist, you'll own the strategic development and day-to-day performance of one of our most important product segments. Combining data-driven analysis with market insight, you'll optimise our merchant network, enhance the customer experience, and achieve ambitious growth targets that fuel our business in the Bahrain market.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Manage and optimise the fresh food category portfolio, including produce, dairy, and perishable goods, maintaining quality and merchant compliance standards
• Analyse category performance metrics, customer ordering patterns, and market trends to identify growth levers and operational improvements
• Recruit, onboard, and support restaurant and grocery merchants in the fresh food space to expand offerings and category depth
• Work closely with supply chain and logistics partners to ensure reliable, efficient fulfillment of perishable items across Manama
• Oversee food safety protocols, regulatory adherence, and quality assurance across all fresh food merchants in the platform
• Develop and launch category-building initiatives that drive customer acquisition, repeat purchases, and basket growth
• Track and report on category KPIs, translating data into strategic recommendations for leadership

Qualifications

• 3+ years of category management, merchandising, or business development experience in food retail, e-commerce, or food delivery
• Demonstrated proficiency with data analysis, reporting tools, and business intelligence platforms
• Solid understanding of fresh food supply chains, food safety compliance, and food industry regulations
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills across commercial, supply chain, and operations teams
• Track record of delivering measurable business results and driving category or sales growth
• Fluent in English; Arabic language skills valued
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent professional experience
