About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization that is transforming how large financial institutions leverage AI and modern platforms. As they scale their enterprise customer base across banks and insurance companies, they need a senior Solution Architect to serve as the technical authority in complex customer engagements. This role sits at the intersection of pre-sales strategy and post-deployment success, working directly with enterprise architects and technical leadership at major financial institutions.

You'll be based in Berlin and act as the trusted architecture counterpart who speaks the language of enterprise architects—designing integration strategies, solving compliance challenges, and turning hard technical questions into competitive advantages.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior technical voice in customer conversations, from initial pre-sales through production deployments at large financial institutions
• Design target solution architectures for enterprise transformations, mapping how modern platforms integrate into existing landscapes of core banking systems, data platforms, and legacy infrastructure
• Own the hardest architecture challenges in deals—integration patterns, deployment models, throughput and latency requirements, security, compliance, and data residency
• Lead architecture workshops, whiteboarding sessions, and reference architecture reviews with stakeholders ranging from engineers to CTOs
• Represent the organization in senior technical discussions, providing enterprise architects and technical leadership with a credible, expert counterpart
• Build reusable reference architectures, integration blueprints, and best practices that scale across engineering and sales teams
• Work across pre-sales and post-sales, supporting account teams on complex enterprise deals and partnering with deployment engineers to ensure delivery matches commitments

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of experience in solution or enterprise architecture, with significant time working directly with large enterprises, ideally in financial services
• Deep hands-on knowledge of AWS and enterprise integration patterns including event-driven architectures, messaging, APIs, batch processing, and streaming—with the judgment to know when to use each approach
• Experience with enterprise-grade legacy systems such as core banking platforms, loan origination systems (LOSs), loan management systems (LMS), mainframes, and on-premises infrastructure
• Solid grounding in security and compliance for regulated enterprises: authentication and authorization patterns, network architecture, encryption, data residency, and audit requirements
• Ability to hold your own with senior technical stakeholders—enterprise architects, Heads of Engineering, CTOs—and be seen as a peer rather than a vendor
• Excellent communication skills across mediums: writing, whiteboarding, presentations, and in-person discussions with both deeply technical and executive audiences
• Comfort operating across pre-sales and post-sales environments, making architecture decisions that serve both customer needs and commercial objectives

Ideal additional qualifications:

• Background as a Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect, or Principal Consultant at a B2B SaaS company, cloud provider, or consultancy serving financial institutions
• Experience designing architectures involving AI/ML or Generative AI workloads in production
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Professional or TOGAF
• Experience responding to enterprise RFPs and security/architecture reviews
