Program Schedule Manager

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential energy technology client in Munich who is building next-generation infrastructure to advance clean energy solutions. They are seeking a Program Schedule Manager to own and develop the Integrated Master Schedule for a complex, multi-disciplinary capital project combining advanced engineering, manufacturing, and large-scale facility construction.

This is a rare opportunity to build programme controls architecture from the ground up on a technically ambitious project that spans infrastructure development, specialist equipment supply chains, and precision manufacturing delivery.

Responsibilities

• Own and build the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for a major capital programme, defining scheduling architecture, coding structure, baseline conventions, and reporting standards from scratch
• Integrate sub-schedules across infrastructure, plant suppliers, manufacturing, and engineering disciplines into one coherent programme view
• Establish credible milestones, programme gates, dependencies, and schedule interfaces across all workstreams
• Identify, validate, and maintain the programme's critical and near-critical paths; provide early warning of schedule risk and downstream impacts
• Maintain a lean 6-week rolling lookahead as a live, actionable planning tool for programme management and construction governance
• Model schedule impacts from scope changes, design evolution, or supplier delays; run analysis to support recovery planning and informed trade-off decisions
• Define and enforce scheduling standards with internal project owners, building and plant construction partners, and specialist equipment suppliers
• Prepare schedule input to release gate decisions, including status packs, float consumption analysis, and risk-adjusted scenarios for management review
• Work closely with cost control functions to ensure schedule baseline and cost forecast reflect aligned programme assumptions
• Support the development of the broader project controls framework as the PMO scales

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in integrated schedule management on major capital programmes—energy, industrial, research infrastructure, or similarly complex multi-discipline projects
• Experience spanning both building construction and equipment/plant supply chains is strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to build an IMS architecture from scratch, not just maintain an inherited baseline; you know what a good schedule looks like before it exists
• Technical proficiency in scheduling tools for large-scale complex projects; comfortable working with federated schedule inputs from parties using different tools and conventions
• Strong communication skills and ability to hold the line on schedule discipline with internal engineers and external partners who have competing priorities
• Comfortable operating with high autonomy in an environment where programme structure is still being developed; able to define working frameworks independently
• Fluent in English; German is a strong advantage given the contractor and regulatory landscape in Munich
• Familiar with AI tools and digital working methods; adaptable and comfortable in a lean, high-pace environment
