Senior Full-Stack Engineer – Team Agent

About This Opportunity

We are representing a well-funded fintech platform in their search for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join their Agent team in Berlin. Our client is building production AI-powered automation tools for financial services, and this role will contribute to both the backend runtime infrastructure and the conversational user experiences that bring these capabilities to life.

This is a hybrid position requiring at least 3 days per week on-site in Berlin.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship end-to-end features across the full stack: Python backend (FastAPI) on AWS serverless infrastructure, and React/TypeScript frontend
• Develop conversational copilot experiences including chat UI components, streaming responses, rich in-chat interactions, and human-in-the-loop approval flows
• Improve agent execution runtime, tool orchestration, and error handling mechanisms
• Own features from scoping through implementation, testing, release, and iteration based on customer feedback
• Leverage AI development tools to accelerate delivery and build AI-native capabilities where appropriate
• Conduct thorough code reviews, improve test coverage and CI/CD pipelines, and elevate engineering standards
• Participate actively in team ceremonies including daily syncs, planning sessions, demos, and technical discussions
• Participate in daytime operations duty and eventually join an on-call rotation as part of owning systems end-to-end

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Strong engineering fundamentals with a focus on simplicity and precision
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, for effective remote collaboration and AI tool interaction
• Prior professional experience building full-stack web applications (not an entry-level role)
• Proficiency with React and TypeScript, and building rich, interactive user interfaces
• Experience with Python backend development, RESTful APIs, and database work
• Experience integrating with AWS or similar cloud platforms

Nice to Have:

• Experience building chat or conversational UIs, real-time/streaming interfaces, or data visualization
• FastAPI and Pydantic experience
• DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, or SQLAlchemy knowledge
• Exposure to LLM application development, agent frameworks, or developer tools
• Prior operations or on-call experience
• Experience with distributed systems, async task processing, or observability tooling
