Senior Full-Stack Engineer – Platform team

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential financial technology organization that is building enterprise-grade authorization and identity access management infrastructure. Our talent team is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join their Platform team in Berlin.

This role sits at the intersection of enterprise security, multi-tenant architecture, and high-throughput systems. You'll be building the authorization backbone that powers access control across a platform serving regulated financial institutions at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate core authorization primitives including roles, policies, and fine-grained permission checks (RBAC/ReBAC)
• Implement authentication flows including SSO, OAuth, and OIDC integrations
• Ensure strict multi-tenant isolation so every customer's data and decisions remain fully segregated
• Optimize fine-grained permission checks to maintain low latency in the hot path of millions of automated decisions per day
• Build comprehensive audit and access-trail capabilities that provide verifiable records of access patterns
• Design systems that meet regulated-industry constraints (financial services, SOC 2, ISO 27001, data residency requirements)
• Develop end-to-end features from React/TypeScript admin UIs down to Python authorization services
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate development and build advanced capabilities

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 5+ years of professional full-stack engineering experience
• Strong backend development skills in Python with FastAPI or equivalent frameworks, including REST APIs and database design
• Strong proficiency with React and TypeScript
• Experience building access control systems with exposure to authentication and authorization concepts (RBAC, SSO, OAuth/OIDC, multi-tenant permissions)
• Strong engineering fundamentals with a focus on simplicity and precision
• Experience integrating with AWS or similar cloud providers
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken

Nice to Have:

• Deep backend specialization including async patterns, performance tuning, and data modeling
• Experience with DynamoDB, Postgres, or SQLAlchemy
• Hands-on experience designing authorization systems at scale: fine-grained/ReBAC models, policy engines (OpenFGA, Zanzibar-style systems, OPA), or multi-tenant RBAC for enterprise SaaS
• Prior operations or on-call experience
