Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI and financial technology organization seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to join their Berlin office. Our client empowers financial institutions through cutting-edge AI solutions and is experiencing rapid growth with enterprise customers across the banking and insurance sectors.

This role is ideal for technical professionals who are passionate about AI developments and have extensive experience with Python, SQL, and REST APIs. You'll lead complex AI-driven deployments in production environments while working directly with customers to deliver high-impact solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery across multiple AI deployments, from scoping use cases through to stable production environments
• Design solution architectures and develop decision logic for production-grade Generative AI applications
• Align with key customer stakeholders to ensure outstanding experience and rapid time to value
• Scope work effectively, sequence delivery priorities, and proactively remove technical blockers
• Make strategic trade-offs between scope, speed, and quality to ensure successful project delivery
• Partner with product management to translate customer needs into actionable product insights
• Develop reusable resources, best practices, and tools to scale the forward deployed engineering function
• Build strong relationships with both technical and business stakeholders at all organizational levels

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 4-6 years of engineering or technical deployment experience including customer-facing work
• Strong technical background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science
• Production-grade proficiency in Python and SQL
• Strong command of REST API design and integrations
• Excellent problem decomposition skills and ability to make well-informed decisions under pressure
• Customer-centric mindset with ability to build relationships across technical and business audiences
• Collaborative, curious, and low-ego approach to cross-functional teamwork
• Willingness to work hybrid from Berlin office at least three days per week

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solution Engineer, or Implementation Specialist within B2B SaaS
• Background building AI applications within financial services
• Experience applying and optimizing statistical and machine learning models to solve business problems
• Familiarity with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
