Forward Deployed Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization that is building AI-native solutions for the financial services sector. They are experiencing rapid growth with enterprise customers and need a talented Forward Deployed Engineer to join their Berlin team.

This is a hybrid role requiring at least three days per week in the Berlin office. You'll work at the intersection of cutting-edge AI technology and real-world financial services challenges, leading technical deployments and ensuring successful implementation of AI-driven solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex AI-driven deployments in production environments, owning technical delivery from scoping through to stable production
• Design solution architectures and develop decision logic for production-grade AI applications
• Align with key customer stakeholders while ensuring outstanding experience and rapid time to value
• Scope work effectively, sequence delivery, and proactively remove blockers while balancing scope, speed, and quality trade-offs
• Partner with product management to translate customer needs into actionable product insights
• Develop reusable resources, best practices, and tools to scale the forward deployed engineering function
• Apply technical expertise and problem-solving skills to help organizations address real-world financial services challenges

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 2+ years of engineering or technical deployment experience including customer-facing work
• Strong technical background, preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science
• Proficiency writing and reviewing production-grade Python and SQL
• Strong command of REST API design and integrations
• Excellence at breaking down complex problems and making quick, well-informed decisions under pressure
• Ability to build strong relationships with both technical and business stakeholders at all levels
• Collaborative, curious, and low-ego approach working across product, engineering, and go-to-market teams
• Openness to hybrid work model with at least three days per week in the Berlin office

Preferred:

• 1+ years of experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solution Engineer, Implementation Specialist or equivalent position within a B2B SaaS company
• Experience building AI applications within financial services
• Experience applying and optimizing statistical and machine learning models to solve business problems
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Interest in staying current with the latest AI developments
