Quality Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential adtech client seeking a Quality Engineer to join their growing team. This remote-first opportunity is open to candidates located anywhere in Canada. Our client operates a sophisticated programmatic platform and needs a quality-focused engineer to enhance their testing infrastructure and accelerate their release cycles.

You'll work within a cross-functional agile environment, building and maintaining automated test frameworks that directly impact product quality. This role offers the chance to transform software development processes through reliable, scalable test automation integrated into CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated and functional test scripts covering functional, system, API, integration, UI, and regression testing
• Collaborate with Platform, Product, DevOps, and QA teams to deploy and execute automated tests in CI/CD environments
• Provide timely, actionable test result feedback to engineering teams and stakeholders
• Participate in technical planning sessions, code reviews, and architectural discussions
• Implement test cases covering edge cases, negative scenarios, compatibility, and concurrency testing
• Work with test case management tools to document and track testing efforts

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of professional test automation experience with API and UI frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Mocha, Jest, or JUnit
• Fluency in at least one of: JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or Java
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI
• Strong understanding of scalable system design for web-based APIs and backend processing systems
• Deep knowledge of QA methodologies in fast-paced software environments with short release cycles
• Experience writing comprehensive test cases in test case management tools like TestRail
• Proficiency working with relational databases and writing SQL queries for large datasets
• Experience querying and validating data across complex systems
