Asst General Counsel II

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential healthcare organization with a remote Assistant General Counsel II opportunity based in the United States. Our client operates in the value-based care space and is seeking an experienced attorney to provide strategic legal guidance across multiple functional areas including healthcare regulations, provider relationships, telehealth compliance, and marketing oversight.

This is a fully remote position with minimal travel requirements (0-10% for occasional US-based offsites).

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior legal advisor on strategic provider and payer initiatives, enterprise compliance matters, and regulatory developments
• Partner with operations and network development teams to assess risk and design compliant business models that support growth
• Independently negotiate complex contracts including provider service agreements, practice resource agreements, and consulting arrangements
• Monitor national, state, and local regulatory issues and develop strategies, controls, and policies to ensure legal compliance
• Conduct legal research and provide practical guidance on healthcare topics including HIPAA, telehealth, and professional licensure
• Act as primary legal advisor to the marketing team, reviewing campaigns, patient education materials, and digital content for regulatory compliance
• Develop internal policies and training for marketing compliance, including pre-launch legal review processes
• Manage outside counsel on regulatory inquiries and specialized matters

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• JD degree from an accredited law school
• Active bar membership in good standing in at least one state
• Minimum 5 years of experience at a value-based healthcare company handling provider relationships, regulatory affairs, marketing, managed care, and provider operations
• Demonstrated experience reviewing and advising on healthcare marketing and advertising compliance
• Proven experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts in healthcare settings
• Deep knowledge of healthcare regulations including HIPAA, data security, telemedicine, corporate practice of medicine, and fraud and abuse laws
• Leadership experience managing attorneys and legal staff in a fast-paced, high-growth healthcare or telehealth environment
