Incident Response Senior Consultant

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential cybersecurity organization seeking a bilingual Incident Response Senior Consultant based in Japan. Our client protects organizations worldwide against advanced cyber threats, and this role will focus on leading critical security investigations across the APJ region.

The ideal candidate will thrive in high-pressure situations, possess deep technical expertise in digital forensics, and communicate fluently in both Japanese and English. You will work alongside a talented team responding to sophisticated threat actor activity targeting enterprise organizations.

Responsibilities

• Lead incident response engagements from initial scoping through remediation
• Perform advanced host and network-based forensics across Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms
• Advise organizations during active security incidents and threat actor investigations
• Conduct scoping calls with Japanese and English-speaking stakeholders to gather intelligence on security events
• Produce high-quality written reports, presentations, and recommendations for both technical teams and executive leadership
• Present technical material to diverse audiences, adapting complexity to audience expertise
• Contribute thought leadership through industry presentations, publications, and speaking engagements
• Analyze network protocols and logs to determine scope and extent of compromise

What We're Looking For

Required Experience:

• Proven incident response experience conducting or managing investigations involving Advanced Persistent Threats, organized crime, or hacktivist groups
• Strong background in computer forensic analysis using industry-standard tools to determine compromise scope
• Network forensics expertise including protocol analysis, network analysis tools, and log examination
• Deep understanding of targeted attacks with ability to create tactical and strategic remediation plans
• Familiarity with threat intelligence, adversary attribution, and its application to incident response
• Native-level fluency in Japanese and English with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both languages
• Demonstrated experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows, and improve efficiency
• Ability to present complex technical content to senior executives and non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications:

• Scripting experience in Python, Perl, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages
• Experience with enterprise security platforms and SIEM solutions
• Host and network forensics expertise
• Basic static and behavioral malware analysis capabilities
• Undergraduate degree in information security, information systems, computer science, or equivalent direct experience
• Industry certifications such as GCIA, GCIH, GCFA, GNFA, or similar credentials
