Lyophilization Scientist

Eurofins is seeking a dedicated Lyophilization Scientist to join our team in West Point, PA. As a full-time member of our Testing & Laboratory division, you will play a critical role in optimizing freeze-drying processes that support our diverse client base across pharmaceutical, biotech, and specialty industries.

About This Position

This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced lyophilization technology in a dynamic laboratory environment. You'll contribute to process development, optimization, and validation activities that directly impact product quality and manufacturing efficiency. Based in West Point, Pennsylvania, you'll collaborate with experienced scientists and engineers to solve complex challenges in thermal processing and product preservation.

Your Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain lyophilization equipment, ensuring compliance with SOPs and quality standards
• Develop, optimize, and validate freeze-drying processes for diverse product formulations
• Design and execute experiments to characterize product behavior during lyophilization cycles
• Collect, analyze, and interpret process data; prepare technical reports and documentation
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement corrective actions to maintain operational reliability
• Monitor product quality parameters and ensure adherence to client specifications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support process scale-up and technology transfer
• Maintain accurate batch records and ensure full regulatory compliance and traceability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely related field
• Demonstrated experience with lyophilization processes, thermal analysis, or freeze-drying operations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Proficiency in data analysis and technical report writing
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing, GMP, and quality assurance principles
• Ability to work independently and contribute effectively within team settings
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
