Senior Scientist- Raw Materials

Eurofins is seeking a Senior Scientist – Raw Materials to join our analytical laboratory in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. This full-time position is based on-site and offers an opportunity to lead scientific testing initiatives that ensure material quality and safety across diverse industries.

Role Overview

As a Senior Scientist – Raw Materials at our Lancaster facility, you'll take a leadership role in the analytical testing and quality assessment of raw materials. This position requires both hands-on laboratory expertise and the ability to mentor junior team members, ensuring that every sample meets rigorous quality standards. You'll be responsible for designing testing protocols, interpreting complex analytical data, and communicating findings to clients and internal stakeholders with clarity and precision.

Core Duties

• Conduct comprehensive analytical testing of raw materials using industry-standard laboratory equipment and methodologies
• Develop and validate testing procedures that meet regulatory and client-specific requirements
• Analyze test results and prepare detailed reports documenting findings, conclusions, and recommendations
• Oversee quality control processes and maintain strict adherence to laboratory best practices
• Mentor junior scientists and laboratory technicians in proper analytical techniques and safety protocols
• Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to address material specifications and resolve testing challenges
• Maintain detailed records and ensure full compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related scientific discipline (Master's degree preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of professional laboratory experience in raw materials testing or quality analysis
• Proficiency with analytical instruments and laboratory information management systems
• Strong understanding of quality assurance principles and regulatory requirements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects independently and mentor team members
• Attention to detail, problem-solving capability, and commitment to accuracy
