About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential health technology organization in München that is building a modern digital health platform. We're seeking a Junior Software Engineer with a focus on iOS development to join one of their cross-functional engineering teams. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career developer to learn from experienced engineers while contributing to meaningful products that impact people's daily lives.
You'll work in a hybrid setup, collaborating closely with product managers, designers, backend developers, and other mobile engineers. The organization values technical excellence, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing through dedicated engineering chapters and collaborative practices.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance features for the company's iOS application alongside experienced engineers
- Contribute to building new features while maintaining code reliability, performance, and maintainability
- Write automated UI tests using XCUITest/XCTest frameworks and take ownership of code quality
- Participate actively in code reviews and technical documentation to support team learning
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members including designers and backend developers
- Bring creative problem-solving approaches to product development challenges
What We're Looking For
Core Requirements:
- Interest in producing high-quality software through testing, code reviews, and clean coding practices
- Proficient written and spoken English with clear communication skills
- Good understanding of development toolset: macOS, Xcode, debugging tools, and AI-assisted development
- Passion for great mobile UX and close collaboration with design teams
- Basic knowledge of Swift programming language
- Experience building UI on iOS using UIKit and/or SwiftUI
- Understanding of concurrency basics (async/await, main-thread safety)
- Knowledge of reactive programming concepts (RxSwift)
- Version control experience with Git
- Unit testing capabilities
Nice to Have:
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Hands-on experience with RxSwift
- Memory management experience
- Familiarity with architecture patterns such as MVVM
- Experience consuming REST APIs
- Knowledge of Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP)
- Personal projects, App Store releases, or open-source contributions
- Agile/Scrum experience
- German language skills
